GUIDED TOURS

German: Wednesday 16:00 (June – October), Italian: Wednesday 17:00 (August)

Built in 1220, the church of St John in Taufers in the Münstertal valley with its late Romanesque frescoes is an art-historical jewel of the upper Venosta Valley. The former hospice church houses the "Life on the Road" exhibitions on the upper floor with archaeological finds from the Bronze Age to the Middle Ages from Taufers in the Münstertal valley. In the sacristy, on three levels, you can visit the permanent exhibition "Romanesque in the Venosta Valley“ and St. Johann in Taufers", and you can find out more about the formative art style.

St John's Church is open daily from 09:30 to 17:00. Guided tours take place between June and October on Wednesdays at 16:00. In the course of the guided tours the two exhibitions are also accessible.
